Many patients want to have a whiter, straighter smile, but the idea of teeth whitening, braces, and other dental procedures and treatments can be overwhelming and undesirable. One way to make a permanent change to your smile is through the use of porcelain veneers.
Dr. McMillan of Holistic Dental Centers provides porcelain veneers for patients who want a fast, easy approach to cosmetic dentistry. Veneers are thin “shells” of porcelain material that are created to be bonded over the top of a patient’s natural teeth. They can change the size, shape, color, and alignment of a tooth as a long-term solution. Instead of braces, teeth whitening, dental bonding, and other dental procedures, veneers can cover up imperfections and improve your smile immediately!
The process of having veneers placed requires approximately three appointments to Dr. McMillan in Cary or Cornelius. After your initial consultation appointment where you and your dentist will discuss whether or not you are a viable candidate for porcelain veneers, you will then schedule an initial appointment. At this second appointment, impressions will be taken and your teeth will be prepared with minimal removal of the tooth structure in order to help the veneers bond. The impressions are sent to a laboratory where the veneers will be made to custom fit your teeth and the characteristics of your smile. Within two to three weeks, the veneers will be sent back to Dr. McMillan, in which another appointment will be scheduled for their placement. In as little as a few weeks, you can completely overhaul your smile!
Dr. McMillan loves improving the smiles of his patients, and with porcelain veneers, almost anything is possible! With veneers, you can change one tooth or your entire mouth! Oral sedation is available in order to help make your appointment more relaxing and comfortable, regardless of how many procedures you are having completed in one visit.
